Innovation: A Lesson in Survival

Industries that innovate are the ones that stand the test of time. I was reminded of this again at a recent conference on innovation by a presentation which summarized 500 years of the Royal Mail Group, from its formation by King Henry VIII (a challenging CEO, apparently) in 1517 to the privatization by the UK Government exactly a year ago. The presentation was delivered by Nick Pendleton, an ex-colleague from our joint days at BT, who now leads the Royal Mail’s strategy and innovation.
