Good deeds are back

Good

Our employees have already reached nearly a third of our volunteer goal

March has finally arrived, and brings with it the chirping of robins and the coming of Spring. It’s a time of renewal, and at Amdocs that means renewing our commitment to our communities and those in need. For the second straight year, we’ve designated March as Good Deeds Month, and this time, our goals are bigger than ever.

As a tribute to our 35th anniversary, which we celebrated earlier this year, we’ve upped our employee volunteer hours goal for 2017 from 25,000 to 35,000 hours. It’s a lofty goal, and one that makes me proud to be an Amdocs employee. Amdocs has organized hundreds of opportunities around the world for employees to participate in, ranging from helping children in need to visiting the elderly and building parks.

One of the most exciting events on this year’s calendar is the Network Hackathon. We’ve partnered with 14 different non-profits in Israel, India, Canada and the UK, and our teams are going to spend 24 hours straight developing effective solutions designed to meet the needs of their chosen organization. Utilizing their coding skills, curiosity and compassion, our teams are going to make a real difference for those in need.

At Amdocs, many of our commercial activities build in a level of community service and social responsibility. Our customers can utilize our green, paper-free billing systems, and our mobile financial services products help bring about financial inclusion to millions of people left behind. But Good Deeds Month goes beyond commercial activities, and puts Amdocs employees in position where they can make a face-to-face difference to a lonely senior, teach a child to read, or volunteer to help feed the hungry.

I’m looking forward to sharing results from the Network Hackathon, and pictures from our Good Deeds Month activities on Amdocs Facebook page. I’d encourage you to like and share our stories, to help inspire others your social networks around the world to get up, and so something great. #DoGoodFeelGreat
